Just in: NetEnt Suspends Street Fighter II

NetEnt, a popular iGaming software provider based in Sweden, has decided to suspend the recently launched Street Fighter II: The World Warrior game only one week after its release. The company took this action due to internal concerns regarding the betting behavior of players.

The slot game, inspired by the famous 90s arcade games, was released on May 21 and was already available for distribution among NetEnt’s partners.

The suspension of the game is a result of issues related to responsible gambling and the staking behavior of players. The specific staking mechanics used in the game have caused problems with bet sizes, particularly when players are close to bonus rounds.

As of now, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior can still be played for free on NetEnt’s official website. However, some top online casinos that offer NetEnt slots have started removing the game from their portfolios.

NetEnt’s Head of Communication, Victor Melander, has confirmed the suspension of the game. Once the internal investigation is concluded, the company will announce its next steps, which may include a revised release of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior.
